All Saints Catholic School 2 Chelmer Valley High 0

All Saints Catholic School under 13’s landed their first-ever Essex County Schools FA Chairman’s Trophy with an impressive 2-0 victory over Chelmer Valley High.

Youngsters Junior Tchamadeu and Ammel Hammond inspired the win by bagging a goal each to give the Dagenham school the win at the Lakeside Sports Ground.

The two sides battled out a cagey affair during the first-half with very few chances.

Both sides creating, but couldn’t beat either goalkeeper, leaving the score goalless at half-time.

The second-half was more open, with All Saints finally breaking the deadlock with a good move down the left and a well-executed finish from Tchamadeu.

Chelmer Valley continued to press but, each time an opening seemed to come, an All Saints defender would be there to step up and make a crucial last-ditch challenge.

It was with just ten minutes remaining, when a mix-up on the goal line eight yards wide of the posts allowed All Saints to cross the ball into the box to their two forwards and it was Hammond, who bundled the ball in from close range.

Despite a spirited final push by the Chelmsford-based school it wasn’t to be and All Saints collected the silverware at the final whistle.
