Defender makes temporary switch to Victoria Road on deal that runs until January
Dagenham & Redbridge have signed defender Ben Goodliffe on loan from Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Goodliffe has made the temporary switch from Molineux Stadium to Victoria Road on a deal which initially runs until January 2019.
The defender started out in Tottenham Hotspur’s academy, but joined Boreham Wood of the Vanarama National League after being released by Spurs.
While with Wood, Goodliffe progressed through the club’s youth set-up and went on to feature several times for the club’s first team.
Goodliffe’s form in the National League alerted Wolves, who snapped him up last summer.
On signing Goodliffe on loan, Daggers manager Peter Taylor told the club website: “’ve been watching Ben’s progress for about a year and a half now and have always been interested in his career progression.
“Since joining the Daggers I have been looking to bring in centre-backs, so this was the perfect opportunity.”
Goodliffe could make his debut for Daggers on Saturday when they visit his former club Boreham Wood in the National League.
