Police are searching for someone they would like to speak to after it is alleged that a man racially abused another person on the Elizabeth Line, going on to punch a passenger who intervened in the face.
It was reported that the assault took place shortly after 10pm on August 2.
The incident took place on the Elizabeth Line between London Liverpool Street and Seven Kings when a man began to racially abuse an Asian man.
When a passenger intervened on behalf of the Asian man, the perpetrator punched the passenger in the face.
British Transport Police has shared an image of a man they believe may have information which could assist in their investigation.
Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 822 of 2 August.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers investigating an incident of racially aggravated assault are today releasing this image in connection.
“At just after 10pm on 2 August, a man began to racially abuse an Asian man on board an Elizabeth Line train between London Liverpool Street and Seven Kings.
“A passenger intervened on behalf of the Asian man, before the other man punched the passenger in the face.
“Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could assist in their investigation.
“Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 822 of 2 August.
“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
