A woman and children found stabbed in Dagenham were taken to a major trauma centre 'as a priority'. 

The woman in her 30s with two children, a boy and girl believed to be aged two and eight, were found with stab wounds in First Avenue on October 25. 

Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to the residential street at 5.35pm. 

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: "We sent a number of resources to the scene including four ambulance crews, medics in fast response cars and advanced paramedics.

"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

"We treated four people at the scene. We took one person to hospital and three to a major trauma centre as a priority”. 

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the scene. 

He has since been discharged into police custody.
