A man has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing at a tube station in Dagenham.
Becontree station remains closed this morning (October 17) after a man was stabbed at 10pm yesterday (October 16).
He was rushed to hospital by paramedics and is considered to not have life threatening or life changing injuries.
Transport for London (TfL) says the station, which serves the District line, is closed while police investigate an incident.
“London Underground tickets will be accepted on local bus services,” the TfL website states.
Detectives Inspector Marvin Bruno said: "There is no place for violence on the railway network, and our detectives and officers are working tirelessly to investigate this incident.
“While we believe this was an isolated incident, the public will see an increase in high-visibility patrols in the area and across the network to provide reassurance."
Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 672 of 16 October.
