A man from Romford has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after people were assaulted in a supermarket in Dagenham.
Police were called to The Heathway at around 8.56pm on October 13 to reports of two people being assaulted.
At the scene, emergency responders discovered a suspect inside the Tesco Express store.
According to a Met spokesperson, a member of the public was assaulted when yoghurt was thrown into their face.
A female member of the public was also assaulted after the suspect left the store, which saw her taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service confirmed that a patient was taken to hospital with a head injury.
Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Romford on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

He was further arrested on suspicion of two counts of racially aggravated harassment and assault of an emergency worker following an incident in custody.
He remains in custody.
A crime scene has been in place outside the supermarket.
