A fire near a park burned through 15 metres of fencing, shrubs and trees.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called to reports of a fire in Dunkeld Road, Dagenham, at just after 5pm yesterday (September 4).

Around 15 metres of fencing near Goodmayes Park, as well as shrubs and trees, were alight for nearly 50 minutes as firefighters tackled the blaze.

Two fire engines from Ilford Fire Station attended the scene and the fire was under control by 5.52pm.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said: "Firefighters were called to a report of a fire in Dunkeld Road yesterday.

"Around 15 metres of fencing, shrubs and trees were alight.

"The brigade was called at 5.09pm and the fire was under control by 5.52pm.

"Two fire engines from Ilford Fire Station attended the scene."
