A woman is in hospital after a crash with an e-bike which was trying to escape police in Dagenham.
The 20-year-old pedestrian was struck by the bike in Green Lane on Friday (January 19).
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "At approximately 17:50hrs on Friday, 19 January officers on patrol in the vicinity of Green Lane, Dagenham indicated for an electric bike to stop.
"The bike made off from police and almost immediately was in collision with a female pedestrian. The rider made off from the scene on foot and enquiries continue to locate them."
The woman's condition is not life threatening and enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
The Directorate of Professional Standards for the police has been informed of the incident.
