Kind-hearted fundraisers walked the streets in pirate costumes to collect funds for a hospice helping terminally-ill children.
Members of the Barking and Dagenham Plus social club raised a total of £523 for Haven House children’s hospice in Woodford Green.
Fundraising activities staged in the last year included darts tournaments and pirate fancy dress collections in Barking and Dagenham in September.
On Tuesday, the club presented a cheque to the hospice at the White Horse pub in the High Road, Chadwell Heath.
Club chairman Gemma Crader, 22, said: “We have re-adopted Haven House as our chosen charity this year, and intend to raise even more money for it.”
Members of the club for young people meet at the White Horse on Tuesdays at 9pm. For more information log on to barkingdagenhamplus.com.
