Hundreds of youngsters enjoyed a “magical” outing yesterday as Barking Rotary club put on a circus to remember.
Firefighters, police officers and entertainers transformed Central Park in Dagenham into a paradise of playfulness for their 22nd annual Kids Out fun day.
The 550 youngsters from special schools across London also enjoyed the shows in the Big Top Santus Circus, as well as a giant bouncy castle, face-painting and ferris wheel.
Former Rotary president Alec Everitt said the event off Rush Green Road was a “fantastic” success.
“It’s an experience for the kids that they absolutely won’t get otherwise and the weather couldn’t have been better,” he said.
“Some of the children have never been to a circus before and some of their parents and carers have never been either.
“Everyone watches the circus wide-eyed, it’s magical.”
