The A13 remains partially closed in the London-bound direction following a collision between two lorries this morning.

Three of the four lanes were shut following the accident near the Beckton roundabout shortly before 6am.

Recovery vehicles and the emergency services attended the scene, with one of the lanes since reopening - but two are currently still shut.

And anyone planning on using an alternative route through Barking is also set to be affected by a paper recycling plant fire on River Road.

Part of the road has been cordoned off as a precaution, with the 100-strong contingent of firefighters likely to remain on scene for the rest of the day.

As a result, there are severe delays on River Road, Movers Lane and Thames Road, with bus passengers told to expect “curtailments” in both directions on the EL1, EL2 and EL3 routes.

Passengers with bus-only tickets or passes are able to use the Tube between Dagenham Heathway and West Ham.
