Barking Road Runners had a busy week with the second race of the ELVIS series, round four of their own Grand Prix series and a couple of half marathons too.
The ELVIS event was hosted by Havering 90 Joggers on a five-mile course at Raphael Park, with 27 Barking runners led by first male finisher Simon Abeledo (30.37) and first female Jess Collett (36.30).
Stuart Mackay, Martin Page, Tom Brennan, Rory Burr, Daniel Plawiak, Nehal Patel, Cristina Cooper, John George, Belinda Riches, James Hutton, Rosanna Fforde, Jason Li, Martin O’Toole, Isobel Pinedo Borobio, Louise Chappell, Rabea Begum, Martin Mason, Mick Davison, Nikki Cranmer, Stuart Burr, Dennis Spencer Perkins, Les Jay, Dawn Curtis, Nigel Swaby and Rob Courtier also ran.
The Grand Prix took place at the Sikhs In The City Summer Samosa, with James Lowndes and Colin Jones first and second in the men’s 10k, while Joyce Golder, Rabea Begum and Louise Chappell claimed a 1-2-3 for the women.
Also running were Alison Fryatt, Mark New, Gary Harford, Dawn Curtis, Ricky Narwal, Nikki Cranmer, Debra Jean Baptiste, Rob Courtier, Jason Li, Les Jay, Martin Mason, Mick Davison, John George and Micky Ball.
Martin Page was first in his category at the Jersey half marathon in an excellent time of 1:39.13, while the club were represented by Tom Brennan (1:52.25), Belinda Riches (2:04.16) and Veronica Barikor (2:51.42) at the Southend Half.
Jagbir Bassi took part in the Enigma Running Outrun Marathon at Milton Keynes finishing in 4:35.35 in extremely hot conditions.
