It has been a strange time lately. As if we didn’t have enough to worry about, bird flu came back to the UK.
Some farms, including one over the border in Kent, had cases. It seems so old school in comparison to coronavirus, almost retro.
I’m keeping away from any pigs because swine flu must be getting jealous.
The same is true for Spanish flu, so I will also keep away from any Spaniards.
Those news stories added to the anxiety we were all feeling.
Over the last week I have had the pleasure of presenting some shows on Time 107.5 and I have spoken to many callers. There’s a general feeling of being sick of it.
One caller told me of the effort they had to put in to get a haircut.
They had worked out that it was the last chance to get a trim before doing so became illegal again. The first lockdown was extended a few times so you can’t be sure when your next haircut will be.
I think that’s a good way to measure lockdowns, what will we look like?
Are we talking a Ken Barlow fringe the from 80s? Will we look like a footballer from the 70s? Or will it be the full Tom Hanks in Castaway?
We need to know.
As ever, I am here to look on the bright side.
As we start a second lockdown remember that it will lower the odds of you getting Covid as well as bird flu, swine flu or a cold.
And having hair that makes you look like something escaped from a zoo will make you feel like isolating more.
So don’t let the anxiety get to you, it’ll all work out in the end.
